Ghana Post Company Limited (GPCL) operates under the Right to Information Act, 2019 (Act 989), which gives citizens the right to access official information held by public institutions.

This means every person in the jurisdiction of Ghana, citizen or non-citizen has the right to information. It is in line with this regulation that Ghana Post has set up the Right to Information (RTI) Unit. However, access to information would be subject to the exemptions that are relevant with the protection of the public interest as stipulated in the ACT.
How to Apply for Information
- Requests must be made in writing using the standard RTI application form.
- Applications should include personal details, description of the information requested, and valid identification (Passport, National ID, Voter’s ID, or Driver’s License).
- Requests may be submitted electronically or physically.
Response Time
Applicants will be notified within 14 days. Extensions (up to 7 days) may apply if the request involves large volumes of data or requires consultation.
Fees
Information is generally free, except for special requests such as translation, transcription, or media conversion.
Amendment of Records
Individuals may request corrections to their personal records if information is inaccurate, misleading, incomplete, or outdated.
